Product Analyst for the Payments Division

At Zalando Payments we handle the processing of all financial transactions across all Zalando applications, including the main web-store. We offer a flawless user experience in the checkout and combine this with payment processing and reconciliation in the back-end covering the entire financial process, boosting conversion and delivering competitive advantage to our customers through smart risk steering.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Data is a critical part of our product development process and Product Analysts are the chief advocates. We are looking for Product Analysts who can quickly jump in and make an impact on the development life-cycle and therefore our payment product offering. Working closely with teams of Software Engineers and Data Scientists, you will be responsible for ensuring that data is both dependable and correct, seeking insights in this data and making data-driven decisions. You will have touch points throughout the entirety of the product development lifecycle, from early data-explorations and experiments to optimization of existing products and services. Your analytical understanding helps you to see clearly how our products grow and how these can be improved.

  •    You will set-up and analyse A/B tests for new experimental features and business opportunities
  •    You will define the key performance metrics for your team and the entire payments division
  •    You will always give analytical evidence as to why we do certain things, thereby challenging and contributing to product decisions based on these insights
  •    You will be a data explorer, an educator and a partner in decision making

YOU ARE SKILLED

  •  You have a degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline
  •  You have a deep understanding of numbers as well as a strong business sense
  •  You can drive projects and focus on high impact work
  •  You effectively synthesize, visualize, and communicate your ideas to others and can explain complex topics in simple terms
  •  You have experience performing analysis with large datasets and have a deep understanding of statistical analysis, experiment design, and common pitfalls of data analysis
  •  You have experience with advanced analytics and Statistical software languages (like R, SQL, Python), Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microstrategy, Bigquery), Google Analytics IQ certified are a plus
  •  You work effectively with teammates and win credibility quickly
  •  You have good English skills – written and oral. German would also be a benefit but is not essential
