Your Role and Impact

Our Product Analytics department enables teams to take better decisions based on data. Data is a critical part of our product development process, and Product Analysts are their chief advocates. We are looking for Product Analysts who can jump in and make an impact quickly.

You will be responsible for ensuring that data is dependable and correct, finding insights from this data, and making an impact through data-informed decisions. You will work across the entire product development lifecycle, from early data explorations about user behavior to experiments and optimizations on shipped products. You will develop an analytical understanding of what drives the growth of our products and how it can be improved. You will set-up and analyze A/B tests for new experimental features, generate and size opportunities to prioritize features, and define key performance metrics for the team. You will always give analytical evidence as to why we do certain things, thereby challenging and contributing to product decisions based on these insights. As a Product Analyst, you will be all together a data explorer, educator, and partner in decision-making.

Your Challenge

  • You’ll identify, translate and prioritize important product questions based on data (i.e. web analytics, microstrategy, exasol)
  • You’ll explore data to find actionable insights and make product recommendations through funnels, cohort analyses, long-term trends, user segmentation, regression models, and more
  • You’ll set-up, analyze, and promote good practices for multivariate experiments
  • You’ll partner with product and engineering teams to implement, document, validate, and monitor our logging and metrics, using tools like Google Analytics
  • You’ll synthesize and communicate insights during the product development process
  • You’ll actively contribute to creating a data-informed culture at Zalando

 What You Bring

  • You have at least 3+ years of experience in a similar data role and a degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline
  • You have a deep understanding of numbers, as well as a strong business sense and have a passion for making sense of user behavior
  • You have recent experience with advanced analytics and some combination of:
    • Statistical software languages (like R, SQL, Python)
    • Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microstrategy, Bigquery), Google Analytics IQ certified is a plus
    • Experience performing analysis with large datasets with a deep understanding of statistical analysis, experiment design, and common pitfalls of data analysis
  • You are able to drive projects with minimal guidance and focus on high impact work
  • You effectively synthesize, visualize, and communicate your ideas to others and have the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
  • You are thoughtful, self-aware, and use available evidence to make decisions
  • You work effectively with teammates and win credibility quickly
