MOVMNT is a Zalando venture that connects fashion producers and customers, and that pioneers and creates opportunities for brands and factories. The assortment is a great offer for the price-conscious customer who is interested in style and quality. For MOVMNT we are currently searching a Head of Sourcing and Merchandising who will take over the fashion direction of the business. This role reports directly into the Zalando Management Board and offers both high exposure as well as business impact.

YOUR CHALLENGES

  • You will lead the vendor/merchant acquisition, merchant management and fashion content teams

  • You will build and develop a tangible fashion and assortment strategy for the business

  • You and your team identify, acquire and onboard vendors/suppliers/merchants to sell their assortment on MOVMNT

  • With your team you’ll furthermore advise the already existing vendors/merchants on their sales strategy and how they can leverage our B2B products to drive performance

  • You will build and execute on a strategy for editorial content across multiple channels (e.g onsite, social-media, mailings etc.)

  • You will shape a clear vision for the MOVMNT brand and drive the brand identity forward in close co-operation with the product lead

  • Finally you will co-manage the overarching functions such as finance & administration and closely align with the product lead on general strategy

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • You bring expert industry knowledge to the table:

    • You are an expert in the fashion industry with multiple years of experience in roles around sourcing / buying / merchandising / category management

    • You have experience working in an E-Commerce environment

    • You have a good understanding of the low-price fashion market and economics

    • Having experience with working in a well-known vertical business is a plus

    • You have a strong understanding of consumer fashion needs and a proven track record to translate into an assortment plan

  • You offer an entrepreneurial mindset with a strong hands-on mentality

  • Your B2B sales and negotiation skills are outstanding. Ideally you already have an existing network with major suppliers

  • You preferably have had P&L responsibility previously

  • You have a proven track record of leadership
